Installation
Install Form Mailer from the Google Workspace Marketplace and connect it to your Google Forms. It works with all Gmail and Google Workspace accounts.
Prerequisites
- A Google account (personal Gmail or Google Workspace)
- At least one Google Form you want to automate
- Permission to install add-ons in your Google Workspace (if managed by an organization)
Step 1: Install from Marketplace
- Visit the Form Mailer listing on the Google Workspace Marketplace
- Click Install
- Select the Google account you want to use
- Review and approve the requested permissions
- Click Done when installation completes
Alternatively, install directly from inside Google Forms:
- Open any Google Form
- Click the ⋮ (three dots) menu → Get add-ons
- Search for "Form Mailer"
- Click Install

Form Mailer is available on the GSuite Marketplace and works with all Gmail and Google Workspace accounts — personal and organizational.
Step 2: Open Form Mailer
After installation:
- Open a Google Form
- Click the puzzle piece icon (Add-ons) in the top toolbar
- Select Form Mailer → Configure
- The Form Mailer sidebar will open
Step 3: Verify Installation
In the Form Mailer sidebar, you should see:
- Your connected Google account email
- The current form name
- Options to configure respondent and owner email templates
Permissions Required
Form Mailer requests the following permissions:

| Send email on your behalf | To send automated emails when forms are submitted |
| View and manage form responses | To access response data for email placeholders |
| Display third-party content | To show the Form Mailer configuration sidebar |

Form Mailer only accesses forms where you explicitly enable it. It does not read or modify other forms in your account.
Organization / Workspace Installs
If your Google Workspace admin manages add-on installations:
- Ask your admin to approve Form Mailer in the Google Admin Console → Apps → Google Workspace Marketplace apps
- The admin can choose to install it for specific organizational units or the entire domain
- Once approved, all users in the allowed scope can use Form Mailer
Uninstalling
To remove Form Mailer:
- Go to Google Workspace Marketplace — My Apps
- Find Form Mailer and click Uninstall

Uninstalling Form Mailer stops all automated emails. Existing form responses are not affected.
